See where the Spartans landed in the national rankings for this week
Michigan State hockey opened the season with a weekend sweep and thus remained positioned in the top three nationally.
The Spartans didn't move in either of the national polls this week, remaining at No. 3 in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey national rankings. Michigan State started the season at No. 3 and still remains behind only Denver at No. 1 and Michigan at No. 2.
The Spartans took care of business in the season-opening series this past weekend against Northern Michigan. Michigan State first beat the Wildcats on Friday by the final score of 6-2, and then followed that up with a 5-1 victory on Sunday.
Next up for the Spartans is a road game at RIT this upcoming weekend. Michigan State will play one lone game at RIT on Saturday evening.
