Yahoo Sports Staff Updated Sun, October 11, 2026 at 6:29 PM UTC About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In this story We've got ourselves an NFC North showdown in Week 5, as the Chicago Bears travel to Lambeau to face the Green Bay Packers in their first of two matchups this season. The Bears sit in second in the division with a 3-1 record, while the Packers sit at 2-2 despite a fairly ugly start to the season.
Chicago is once again without starting quarterback Caleb Williams, who is yet to practice since going down with a hamstring injury in Week 2. That means it will be Tyson Bagent again at quarterback, who will look to build on last week's win over the Jets after another week's worth of reps. Bagent threw for 268 yards and a pick against the Jets. Expect them to continue to lean on the run game, though they will be without Kyle Monangai, who talled 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 4 but is out with an injured toe.
The Packers are still seeking their first win at Lambeau this season after getting upset by the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener in Week 3, cranking up the heat on head coach Matt LaFleur after a relatively slow start. Even their two wins this season (at Jets, at Buccaneers) were closer than they should have been, outscoring both teams — who hold a combined record of 1-7 — by just a field goal.

Neither offense ended the first half being able to sustain a drive. This one goes into halftime with Green Bay leading 14-7. The Packers will begin the second half with the ball.
The Green Bay offense started the game on fire, but has fizzled out. After Chicago's score, the Packers had a penalty and then went 3-and-out before punting back to the Bears.
Chicago head coach Ben Johnson rolled the dice on fourth and goal from the 1-yard line. Rather than taking the points, D'Andre Swift took the ball and punched it into the end zone with 1:53 left in the first half.
After Chicago had a three-and-out following the Packers' latest TD, Green Bay got the ball back.
Unfortunately, it was the Packers' turn for a three-and-out of their own. After picking up eight yards on three plays, Green Bay sent it back to Chicago.
Bears starting linebacker TJ Edwards is questionable to return against the Packers, dealing with a hamstring injury, the team announced . After spending some time in the medical tent, he was spotted heading into the locker room.
He's tallied 12 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 QB hit and an interception this season.
Following MarShawn Lloyd's touchdown, the Bears had a three-and-out. Chicago picked up only four yards after back-to-back two-yard runs by Roschon Johnson and an incompletion from Tyson Bagent to Rome Odunze.
Packers lead 14-0 with 11:12 left in the first half.
Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd bowled his way into the end zone for Green Bay's first rushing TD of the year. Lloyd made sure to put a Chicago defender in the dirt on his way.
It hasn't been a great start for the Chicago Bears so far, who punted on their opening drive. Things only got worse on their second drive, as a pass attempt from Tyson Bagent was tipped into the air and picked off by safety Xavier McKinney to set up the Packers at the Bears' 45-yard line.
Christian Watson continues making explosive plays, getting his Packers off on the right foot as they seek their first home win of the season.
Jordan Love & Co. executed a 10-play, 91-yard drive to open up Sunday's game against the Packers, taking an early 7-0 lead with a 42-yard passing touchdown from Love to Watson and a successful PAT from Trey Smack.
Caleb Williams is out for the Chicago Bears yet again this week, as he recovers from a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2. That puts backup Tyson Bagent back in the starting lineup on the road in Lambeau, facing the Green Bay Packers in one of the league's toughest road environments.
Bagent threw for 268 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in last week's start against the New York Jets.
Here's a look at the rest of the game inactives for Bears-Packers in Week 5:
The Chicago Bears will make sure they honor legendary coach Mike Ditka in Week 5. Ditka — who led the Bears to a win in Super Bowl XX — died Friday. He was 86 .
In tribute to Ditka, the team unveiled a helmet decal featuring No. 89, the number Ditka wore when he was a tight end with the franchise.
The decal will appear on the back of the team's helmet, just under the American flag.
Two years ago, the thought of the Chicago Bears being favored at Lambeau Field was hard to believe. Being favored with a backup quarterback was unfathomable.
But not only are the Bears favored with Tyson Bagent, it's hard to make a case for the Packers being the right pick.
Everything has changed in the NFL's oldest and most heated rivalry. Ben Johnson showed up in Chicago before last season with a confidence that belied the Bears' recent records. He called out the Packers and Matt LaFleur specifically. Then he has backed it up. The Bears are 14-7 since he arrived. They had a great comeback win against the Packers late in the regular season a year ago and a much more memorable comeback win over them in the playoffs. LaFleur is now getting constant heat from Packers fans and those losses to the Bears are a big part of it.
LaFleur is also taking plenty of blame for the Packers' malaise since Micah Parsons got hurt late last season. Counting that game in Denver when Parsons tore his ACL, the Packers are 2-7 since. This season they look like a mess. The offensive line has been terrible in pass protection and isn't opening lanes for the running game. Green Bay can't run the ball; the Packers have 232 rushing yards, which is 65 fewer than any other team. They're one of two teams with no rushing touchdowns. The defense is 24th in EPA allowed per play and success rate allowed as well. Nothing is good.
And yet, the Bears are favored by less than a field goal. Perhaps it's because Bagent was good but not great last week in his first start of the season. But the Bears ran the ball very well and dominated the Jets. The week before that they dominated the Eagles with Case Keenum at quarterback. The Bears haven't been a road favorite at Green Bay in 20 years . But it makes complete sense this week.
Nothing is a lock in the NFL, especially when dealing with desperate teams, playoff revenge and rivalries. But it's hard to make any logical argument why the Packers can beat the Bears on Sunday. Bears -2.5 is the pick. And if that happens, it'll get even noisier around LaFleur.
