About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement The Atlanta Dream will play the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Finals. And they'll do it in front of a very small crowd.

State Farm Arena is much bigger, hosting upwards of 16,000 fans. Only 3,500 fans will be able to watch the Dream compete for their first WNBA championship at home. According to USA Today , they tried to find another location with more seating, but were unable to on such short notice.

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22nd. Singer Sombr is booked to play Atlanta that night. The Atlanta Hawks will play regular season home games on Oct. 24th and Oct. 29th, the same nights that Game 4 and Game 6 are scheduled.

It's almost unthinkable that this is possible. You would think the WNBA could adjust the schedule to make it work. Especially with such a long break between the semifinals and WNBA Finals. This also could have been avoided if the league hadn't taken two weeks off at the end of the regular season so players could participate in the FIBA World Cup.

When the Dream last played in the WNBA Finals in 2013, they played their one home game at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. That arena is now known as Gas South Arena and seats about 13,000. Nothing is scheduled there the night they're supposed to play Game 3, but there are conflicts the other nights. Game 4 and Game 6 would have conflicts. with a Dracula ballet and the Zac Top: Cold Beer & Country Music tour .

This is the Dream's fourth trip to the WNBA Finals since the franchise's inception in 2008.
